5 ways to support photographers & small businesses

Hello Friends. How have y'all been holding up during this "Stay at Home" order and self quarantine. This is a weird time to be alive. My mom even says, "it's as if we are living in a science fiction book" and I kinda have to agree with her on that. During this time photographers and small business arre struggling with this downtime and slow season. We don't know when we will be able to go back to work and get back to what we are passionate about. There is many FREE ways you can support small business from the comfort of your home. Let's Chat about 7 ways you can support photographers and small businesses that are absolutely no cost to you.

1. Share and Like a Post

This is such a great way to engage with small businesses. When you share their post, like it or comment on it this raises the engagement levels for those small business which means more people will see that post. An actual person does a happy dance when you post a genuine comment that can light up their day. Social media business pages (especially Facebook) need interaction in order for Facebook to find them “relevant.” If the content is relevant to you, why not share it too?

2. Tag a Friend

You see a post you like and you may like it and a photographer will thank you for it. Do you know a friend who may also enjoy this post or even book with the photographer, tag them so they can see the post too.

3. Post a Facebook or Google Review

In my photography business, I have been grateful to have many clients leave wonderful reviews. However, I’ve also had many clients who raved about their session and promised to leave reviews and never found the time. As a small business owner, it can be very hard to get reviews no matter how hard you work. Leaving a review is a great way to help any small business owner. See, easy-peasy and it only takes a few minutes if your time.

4. Shout Them Out

Have you had a session with a photographer or bought a product from a small business you love? Give them a shout out and talk about your experience. Share some photos from your session, show the product or even share the business card. Not only does that support the business owner, but it also gets the word out about their business. You can also take some business cards to share with friends or share around town. You never know what could happen.

5. Refer a Friend to Them

One of the best ways to show your support is through word of mouth. Talking about a small business and referring them to friends and family will help them get new customers and hopefully get more people to spread the word. Here at Anastasia Kay Photographer, there are perks to referring your family and friends to us here.
